Luna's Honey Bees
Our story began in 2010 when our oldest son was diagnosed with asthma at an early age of 6 months and a year later allergies were a big part of his life. He was in and out of the doctors, specialists and the hospital. The trials of medications and missing daycare and school were taking a toll on the family and especially our son.  We have always read that raw local honey had wonderful health benefits but we wanted to do more than just buy the raw honey, we wanted to help with the decrease of pollinators. In 2015, we set off on a journey into the world of BeeKeeping with attending classes and workshops, purchasing our first two hives along with finding a home, Madoli Farm, for the thousands and thousands of bees we were about to care for.
From that passion and as a means of supplying our family with raw honey, our hobby of keeping a few beehives soon tripled.

Buying locally will ensure you get the purest form of honey around. When raw honey is left in its natural state and is unfiltered, it contains pollen, enzymes, antioxidants and many other beneficial compounds that researchers are just beginning to learn about.

What is Raw Honey
Raw honey is honey that has been spun out of the natural beeswax honey combs and contains enzymes and natural bee pollen. All the floral essences that came from the flowers remain and give our honey it’s amazing smell and taste, with a very smooth finish. Raw honey will naturally crystallize, and that is another characteristic of raw honey that is unheated, unprocessed, and pure. It is nice to slather or spoon without dripping. It will keep indefinitely over time.

Raw honey that is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants, has been a part of our family for the last few years and has become an everyday supplement. Both of our boys are healthy, off all medication and loving life! Honey is not just one of the oldest cultivated “health” foods, but also one of the most delicious natural sweeteners.
